August 25th, 2023

We are happy to welcome Pierre-Yves and Muhamet at the LANE.

Pierre-Yves Helleboid obtained his master’s degree in Cell biology in the ‘Pierre et Marie Curie’ university in Paris in 2013. He then pursued a PhD program in the Laboratory of Virology and Genetics (LVG) in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), where he studied the functions and evolution of members of the largest family of human transcription factors: the KRAB Zinc Finger proteins. In 2021, he joined Sophia Genetics, a company involved in data-driven medicine. He now integrated the LANE to work on chromatophores development in reptiles under the direction of Athanasia Tzika.

During his master in physics at Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey), Muhamet Ibrahimi studied emergent patterns in cellular automata. He then obtained a Ph.D. in biological physics In December 2022 at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, where he studied the robustness of biological tissue elongation using active gel theory. He now integrated the LANE to study skin colour patterning in various species of reptiles under the direction of Michel Milinkovitch.
